Overview
Hydronic and radiant heating designed for even comfort
Hydronic systems move heated water rather than air, delivering it through in floor radiant tubing, baseboard, radiators or fan coils. The result is quiet, steady, even warmth with no drafts and no blown dust, which is why radiant floors remain the comfort benchmark for bathrooms, basements, workshops and open plan cottage living spaces across Muskoka.
Better Value works on hydronic and radiant systems for homes, cottages and commercial buildings: boiler service and replacement, circulator pumps, zone valves and manifolds, expansion tanks, air elimination, controls and system balancing. Our technicians have completed training on Viessmann and Navien boiler equipment, and we handle both new installations and repairs to existing systems.
Hydronic systems reward careful setup. Correct zoning, proper flow through each loop, effective air elimination, an appropriately sized expansion tank and sensible control strategy are what separate a system that feels effortless from one that has a cold zone nobody ever solved. We also handle specialty applications like snow melt and shop heating.

Called about a problem at the cottage and they walked me through what to do on the phone before they even arrived. Excellent service.

Questions
Hydronic & Radiant Heating: questions & answers
Can radiant floor heating be added to an existing home?+
Often yes, during a floor replacement, a renovation, or from below in an accessible basement or crawlspace. We can assess what is practical in your building.
Is hydronic heating expensive to run?+
Operating cost depends on the boiler efficiency and how well the system is zoned and controlled. A modern condensing boiler with proper zoning is very efficient.
Why is one zone cold?+
Usually trapped air in the loop, a failed circulator or zone valve, a clogged loop, or a control fault. Purging and balancing solves most cold zone complaints.
How often should a hydronic system be serviced?+
Annually. Boiler combustion, system pressure, expansion tank charge, air elimination and pump operation should all be checked before the heating season.
Do you install snow melt systems?+
Yes. Snow melt for driveways, walkways and entries is one of the specialty hydronic applications we handle.
